MICROSTRAT
NW Europe biostratigraphy....
-
Norwegian sector: MicroStrat has worked extensively on the Mesozoic – Tertiary biostratigraphy of the whole Norwegian shelf, including the detailed analysis of Triassic – Jurassic sections in the Sleipner, Johan Sverdrup, King Lear, Oseberg, Statfjord, Gullfaks, Snorre, Norne/Urd, Goliat and Snohvit field areas.
-
UK & other offshore sectors: numerous wells have been analysed from the UK, Danish and Dutch North Sea sectors including Forties, Andrew, Mungo, Arbroath, Everest, Magnus, Brae, Erskine, Scott, and S. Arne field areas.
-
Outcrop studies: Triassic – Jurassic field sections of Greenland, Svalbard and Hopen have been analysed as part of a regional biostratigraphic evaluation of the Barents Shelf region. An extensive megaspore/micro-biofacies study of N. Yorkshire, Middle Jurassic outcrop is currently ongoing in collaboration with Dr Chris Hill, palaeobotanist.
-
Biostratigraphic tools: an in-depth knowledge of foraminifera, ostracods, radiolaria, diatoms and megaspores has been key to the effective application of biostratigraphy in the above areas: research papers involving these groups have been published by Pete Morris and co-workers.

Megaspores (x40) - Kuqaia quadrata, Sinemurian, Åre Formation, NOCS
Biostratigraphic well correlation - Statfjord Group, Viking Graben, NOCS
