MicroStrat provides specialist in-house services for the industry focusing on routine well and multi-well field/regional studies, comprising:

Micropalaeontological analysis – involving bespoke sample processing /picking, and quantitative/ volumetric analytical methods. The raw data generated through logging are available through ‘Stratabugs’, deliverable in digital format.

Biostratigraphic evaluation – analytical data (in-house or client’s) are interpreted using established field or regional biozonation schemes: this can provide the client with a detailed chrono/sequence stratigraphic framework for individual well or multi-well studies.

Biofacies/palaeoenvironmental analysis – microfossil group /lithofacies-log associations are applied to define depositional environments and likely lateral facies trends in field and regional studies.

Multi-disciplined biostratigraphic analysis – palynology and nannopalaeontology services are provided by associated consultants David Bailey MSc. (Biostrat Ltd.) and Dr Steve Starkie (Datum Ltd.). Having worked together on projects over many years, MicroStrat is able to offer a level of expertise unrivalled by many other larger consultancies.
